V.I.V.E.K has made an impact since the early days of the UK Dubstep movement. His reputation has been solidified thanks to the consistent quality of his releases on Mala's Deep Medi imprint, as well as Pinch's Techtonic Recordings and his radio shows on the seminal Rinse.FM.

V.I.V.E.K's sound is his own. An amalgamation of dubbed out dread bass, tinged with jungle vibrations and Detroit tech. His music has an overpowering physicality to it; to hear is to feel. Influenced by the golden years of Drum N Bass and a steady diet of dub and roots music, V.I.V.E.K has been honing his musical construction skills since 2004.

Not content to restrict himself to the standard DJ/Producer role, V.I.V.E.K. goes one step further with his SYSTEM brand. Having just celebrated its first birthday, this custom built rig shot to notoriety with a series of sold out London events, hosting the cream of the UK 140 movement and providing lovers of deep, heavy bass with a refreshing, no-pretense alternative to standard club events.

Recently the SYSTEM vision progressed further with the first release on SYSTEM MUSIC, a much anticipated 12-inch from the man himself entitled Asteroids: an atmospheric track of epic proportions which has received huge support already from press and fans alike. Forthcoming projects include the next Dubstep Allstars compilation on Tempa, out soon.

With further releases lined up for SYSTEM MUSIC as well as various established labels and appearances at key events such as Outlook Festival, not to mention plans to take the SYSTEM night on the road, 2013 looks set to be a very interesting year for V.I.V.E.K!

AUTHOR is the brainchild of Leeds-based dubstep producers Jack Sparrow and Ruckspin.

Jack Sparrow has been producing original and innovative dubstep since 2007. He has released music on some of the scene's most legendary labels including Pinch's Tectonic Recordings and Mala's Deep Medi imprint. His debut album was released in 2010 (Tectonic) to glowing and inspired reviews, and his output has been equally ground-breaking since. Jack Sparrow has also established himself as an remix artist. He has completed remix work for Skepta (3 Beat Records), Count and Sinden (Domino), Mumdance (Mad Decent), RSS (Wall of Sound), Think feat. Novika (New Moon Recordings),Submotion Orchestra (Exceptional), Birdy (Atlantic) De Niro & Y feat. Estel Luz (Nomad Records), and Photek (Tectonic).

Ruckspin picked up the piano and violin aged 6 and from an early age it seemed he was destined to follow a future in music. He has been involved with many revered dubstep projects including Submotion Orchestra: a live multi-piece dubstep group, and The Cymatic Project: a live electronic music ensemble.

Both Ruckspin and Jack Sparrow have established themselves as highly gifted and hardworking producers, dedicated to engineering the optimum quality sounds. Author is their shared project. It represents the opportunity to experiment and celebrate musical sounds within the context of dubstep. Author's debut album was released on Tectonic Recordings in late 2011, and they have recently released their sophomore effort, 'Forward Forever' on Black Box. Jazzy, soulful, thought-provoking, and full of grace, their sound will leave an impact on you like no other!
